Author Bio

Harnois is a RI native now living in central NY. He has over forty years of business experience across several industries, and has held positions in Information Technology, Computer Security, Internal Audit, and consulting. He was among the first in the nation to be certified in both Information Systems Security and IT Audit, and he used his extensive training and experience in developing the plot for Trail of Evidence. He retired in 2008 as Senior Vice President of an $11 Billion commercial finance company.

Harnois has been published in professional journals and was a frequent guest speaker at professional gatherings. He had three books published prior to writing Trail of Evidence.

His first book, EDP Auditing: A Functional Approach, is a major book on computer auditing, published by Prentice Hall, Inc. This book has been used as a working guide by hundreds of companies world-wide.

His second book, Accounting and Auditing in a New Environment: A Guide to Personal Survival Skills and Professional Growth, was published by AMACOM Books, a division of American Management Association. He wrote this book for professionals in the accounting and auditing fields. It provides a guideline to help them focus on the “people skills” necessary to be successful.

His third book, Growing Up with Guilt, is a tongue-in-cheek autobiography that explores his experiences from the earliest years, through Catholic elementary and high schools, the seminary, and beyond. This book is humorous, but the underlying message is a serious one. It highlights his struggles to understand and accept the man-made laws of the Church, and describes some major decisions he made in his life. In this book, he challenges the reader to reexamine some of the issues that are raised.

I'm pleased to say that the FREE sample offer for Trail of Evidence is working out quite well.  People seem to like the fact that they can read up to 25% of the eBook version before buying either it, or the paperback version.  You should all remember, though, that formating for several different eBook readers makes it difficult to show standard page breaks etc., so the formatting isn't as neat as it is in the paperback version.  I'm told that eBook readers don't look for nice formatting as much as the actual content.
